HK Week Notes 16th May 25

Overarching feeling of the week:  Humbled

One of the things I have learnt at the Bureau is you never know who is going to walk through the door.  Both in terms of the challenges the Clients bring to us or the extraordinary people who come to Volunteer. 

The latter was the eye opener this week.

A professional with over 40 years of experience in Social work spanning Mental Health, Community Justice, Children and Families to Training and Mentorship.  After a rich professional career, she is looking for something rewarding to put her energy into when she fully retires this year.

This level of expertise and knowledge is something we would neve be able to buy in.  But in the nature of Volunteering, she is coming to us due to her passion to make a difference in her community and no wage level could buy that.

I felt very fortunate to have met her and honoured to think she has chosen us to bring her knowledge to.  I very much look forward to having her on the Team and witnessing the Magic she will bring to both the Team and our Clients.
