The Life Blood of Third Sector Work

Delivered in abundance at last week’s Citizens Advice Conference and AGM

In particular the lady who stood up and shared her personal story in front of a room of over a hundred strangers.

How the courage to walk through the door of her local Citizens Advice Bureau with her bags of unopened bills and the secret suicide plan at home.  A Mum of four who survived an abusive marriage battered by the challenges of providing for her children was at rock bottom.

The kindness, practical support and plan out of the nightmare saved her life.  From that she has run charities, set up life changing projects and a Grandmother to 5 children.

All from the act of walking through the door of her local Citizens Advice Bureau and finding hope.  Her only regret is she never managed to thank the advisor who helped her that day.

Thanks, has been more than fulfilled in her living her purpose and sharing the impact of the work of Citizens Advice.

Behind the blue doors of the Bureaus can exist potential magic for some individuals in our community.
